SHIPPING A FIREARM - FFL'S AND TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP
KC Tactical will ONLY transfer ownership of a firearm to individuals or agencies in possession of a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL). This means we cannot ship directly to you unless you are an FFL holder.
If you do not hold a valid FFL, we will transfer your purchased firearm to your choice of a licensed gun dealer in your state. At checkout, you will have an option to select your prefer FFL.
It is your responsibility:
- to ensure that a firearm is legal to own in your state.
- to contact the FFL
- to complete all required paperwork when you pick up your purchase from your local dealer
Be aware that it is customary for your local dealer to charge a transfer fee at the time you pick up your purchase. This transfer fee is strictly between you and your local dealer. Please check with your local dealer concerning their policies. You do not pay KC Tactical the transfer fee.
The buyer is responsible for contacting their transferring FFL to request they send a copy of their FFL to us.
Order Cancellation
If you wish to cancel your order, please notify us within 1 hour of placing your order. Otherwise your order will be fulfilled and subject to our return policy. Please email to sales@kctacticalshop.com for cancellation request.
Accessory Returns
- Returns will only be accepted for merchandise found defective immediately upon receipt.
- You must initiate return requests within 10 calendar days of the receipt. KC Tactical will provide an identical replacement item (pending availability) or full refund on all non-firearm products found defective upon receipt. Returns will only be accepted in original packaging and unused factory condition. Accessory items that have been opened from the manufacturer packaging will not be accepted for return.
- Refunds will be issued in the same payment form as tendered at the time of purchase. KC Tactical will not claim any responsibility for items damaged in shipping. For items damaged in shipping, Users need to file a claim with the carrier.
- Returns will NOT be accepted for any accessories that have been installed/mounted. Most accessory items have a manufacturer warranty. Please contact the manufacturer if there are any issues with / post installation.
- All Ammunition Sales / Ammo Components are Final and Non-Returnable.
- Scopes / Optics Sales - Customers must work through the manufacturer if a defect is not identified immediately upon receipt.
Knife Return Policy
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery. Return requests must be initiated within 14 days of the delivery date, and the returned item must be received by us within 30 days of the original delivery date.
To request a return, please contact sales@kctacticalshop.com within the return window. All returns must be approved before any item is sent back.
Return Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a return, the knife must meet all of the following conditions:
- The knife must be unused, uncarried, and in original condition.
- The knife must not be disassembled, modified, sharpened, or altered in any way.
- All original packaging and accessories must be included.
Any knife that has been disassembled, modified, or otherwise tampered with will not be eligible for return.
Custom or special-order knives are final sale and are not eligible for return or refund.
Fees & Shipping
Once your return request is approved, we will provide a return shipping label. The following will be deducted from your refund:
- Original shipping cost
- Return shipping cost
- A 10% restocking fee
Orders that originally qualified for free shipping will still have the actual shipping and insurance cost deducted if the item is returned.
Damaged or Defective Items
No fees will be charged for errors on our part or for damaged/defective items.
If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact sales@kctacticalshop.com. Do not attempt to fix or modify the item in any way, as this may void eligibility for a return or replacement.
Manufacturer Issues, Production Variance & Subjective Characteristics Disclaimer
For mechanical or technical issues, please refer to the manufacturer’s warranty and guidelines.
Due to normal manufacturing tolerances and design characteristics, some knives may exhibit minor variations or characteristics that are commonly considered acceptable within factory specifications. Examples may include, but are not limited to:
- Slight detent lash or blade movement while closed
- Stiff, sticky, or firm button operation during break-in
- Variations in lock tension or detent strength
- Minor centering deviations
- Slight differences in finish, grind, anodizing, or edge sharpness
These characteristics are often subjective and may vary from knife to knife, particularly on high-volume production models. Unless determined by the manufacturer to be a warranty defect, such characteristics alone do not qualify an item as defective merchandise.
All knives sold by KC Tactical are shipped in manufacturer-produced condition and have undergone the manufacturer’s standard quality control process prior to distribution.
Customer satisfaction remains important to us. However, returns related solely to the above characteristics may be subject to applicable return shipping and restocking fees.
Certain manufacturers may offer warranty evaluation or adjustment services for these concerns. Any manufacturer warranty service arrangements are the responsibility of the customer.
All returned items are subject to inspection upon receipt. Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment once the item has been received and verified to meet all return eligibility requirements.
VERY IMPORTANT- FIREARM RETURNS!!
- Please take your time to inspect all firearms thoroughly BEFORE proceeding with the transfer. Once a new firearm is transferred to you it is considered used, even if unfired. Consequently, we cannot accept the return for new firearms once they have been transferred into your possession. Also, we DO NOT reimburse FFL transfer fees or any shipping cost on returned items. If you found firearm defects prior to transfer, you must make arrangements directly with the manufacturer. Everything we sell is guaranteed by the manufacturer. We are not a warranty repair station. PLEASE DO NOT SEND DEFECTIVE FIREARMS DIRECTLY TO KC Tactical.
- We do understand that some manufacturer defects may not be identifiable upon initial inspection. However, upon discovering a defect AFTER the transfer, the firearm MUST be returned directly to the manufacturer for replacement or repair (in accordance with manufacturer’s warranty policy). By sending a defective firearm directly to the manufacturer, you can avoid the unnecessary transfer fees of returning the firearm to us through your local FFL dealer. PLEASE DO NOT SEND DEFECTIVE FIREARMS DIRECTLY TO KC Tactical. Manufacturer repaired firearms can be returned directly to the customer without additional FFL transfer or associated fees. However, if the manufacturer chooses to replace the firearm, the replacement firearm must transfer through your local FFL dealer to document the replacement firearm serial number.
- No trades or exchanges for firearms.
- In the case of failed background checks and orders purchased by mistake (including non-compliant firearms) original shipping charges will NOT be refunded. Customers will be responsible for return shipping costs and arrangements in these cases. These orders may be subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Orders under $60 with signature confirmation: $25 shipping
Orders from $60 to $99.99: $15 shipping
Orders from $60 to $99.99 with signature confirmation: $20 shipping
Orders from $100 to $149.99: $10 shipping
Orders from $100 to $149.99 with signature confirmation: $15 shipping
Orders of $150 or more: Free shipping
Orders of $150 or more with signature confirmation: Free shipping
Shipping fees apply to all orders shipped to an address.
In-store pickup orders are not subject to shipping charges.
Firearm Orders: For security and compliance, all firearm shipments require signature confirmation upon delivery.
Knife Orders: Orders exceeding $150 will include signature confirmation by default. Customers may opt out of this requirement at checkout by selecting the regular shipping option.
Important:
To help prevent fraud, the shipping address must match the billing address at checkout. Orders with mismatched addresses may be delayed or canceled.
It is the sole responsibility of the buyer to ascertain and obey all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws regarding the possession and use of any item purchased. By placing an order, the customer represents that they are of legal age and that the products will be used in a lawful manner. KC Tactical is not responsible for any misuse or legal infractions related to the ownership of these items.
